WIP Wednesday

WIP Wednesday

Since you saw the progress on the Birch stole yesterday, it’s omitted here.
The sleeves of the Honeybee cardigan are coming along nicely:

Sleeve 1 done and sleeve 2 underway
Sleeve 1 done and sleeve 2 underway

And I’m about to have a second attempt at turning the heel on the second Jules socks:

1st sock done and 2nd sock up to the heel.
1st sock done and 2nd sock done up to the heel.

Progress on the Advent Socks, my only wip this week.

Closer up (sock B on the left). The white yarn in sock A is the waste yarn for the heel.
Boring update, but I work with what I’ve got!

FO Friday: Liquorice & Nougat Socks

liquorice & nougat FO 3
Liquorice & Nougat Socks aka Strawberries & Cream mark 2

Notes/Modifications:

  • Heel over 60% of foot stitches to give a deeper, more comfortable fit.
  • Started these June 2013 and finished them some time in early 2014 (possibly Feb or March).
  • These are super comfortable to wear and they are, if I do say so myself, rather stylish!

Progress on the Advent Socks (as of yesterday morning

And progress on something I don’t think I’ve shared before; a cabled hooded cowl of my own design.
I cast on at the top of the hood and knit down, making it totally seamless for the main bit of it.

As you can see, it will be lined in a real-wool faux-fur. Hmmm… toasty warm!

The Great New Year’s Eve/Day Cast On Event!

The Great New Year’s Eve/Day Cast On Event!

That’s a very long-winded way of saying NEW PROJECT TIME EVERYONE!!!

I’ve decided to do a bit of a scrap-yarn-down and the Scrap Yarn Sock Advent Calendar 2014 pattern fits the bill.

I’ve already got each of the days planned out (the advantage of not playing along in real time) so I can get all the yarn sorted in advance. Well … that’s the theory, anyway.

SYSA WIP1
All the yarn for the Scrap Yarn Sock Advent pattern. Some yarns will be used more than once.

The yarns in the centre are for the toes, heels and ribbing (rather than try and match all of  the other yarns I decided to try and match none of them!).

I could knit sock A first and then sock B, since I’m not playing along in real-time, but I think I’ll stick to the order laid out in the pattern.
