Pattern: (name, author, source) Mad about Plaid (Ravelry link only) a.k.a November Mystery Socks by Fluffy Knitter Deb [My Ravelry Project Page]
Size(s): (to fit, finished size) Women’s medium
Yarn: (name, fibre, weight, colour) Opal Uni in purple (54 g used), Regia Stretch in some denim-kinda colour, Kool-Aid-dyed Knit Picks sock yarn in orange/red/yellow (about 6 g used each); all fingering/sock-weight.
Needles: (size, material, style) 2.5 mm Harmony wood double pointed needles.
Knitting style: (for stitch patterns) Combination
Heel and toe style: Patterned heel flap, standard gusset, wedge toe (knit from the top down)
Modifications: An accidental modification on the cuff where I put a purl row where there should have been a knit row and a knit where a purl should have gone!
Notes:
A really good unisex sock pattern that you can really make your own. The cuff/heel/toe patterning is great for using up those pesky odds and ends of sock yarn – you could go totally curh-razee and use 3 yard off cuts and make it really unique!
The 2/2 ribbing on the leg and foot make the sock fit really well and the mosaic patterning adds some much-needed interest to what would be a pretty pedestrian sock otherwise!
The little flash of colour at the toe nicely tie the cuff, heel and toe all together and finish the sock off well.
I still have two things that I finished before this to show off, but this is my last FO of 2008!
