Never a dull Monday

I’m leaving the icky, TMI (Too Much Information) ear-stuff until the end so you can skip over it if you don’t want to read it!

I’ve finished one of the Ballet-shoe-socks

It looks very strange even on the foot, but it (almost) disappears when in the shoe

So on to the second one.

Not much progress on the Trilobite sock but I have finished the world’s most boring washcloth

Dull, but effective!  Yarn is Lily’s Sugar ‘n’ Cream.  I made it big enough to cover my splayed hand.

I’m also attempting to make a head-band out of the left-overs (stitch pattern is Elizabeth’s Lace Lattice from Knitting on the Edge)

I’ve decided to stop doing Project 365 (I had a bad week and missed a day and realised I didn’t really care all that much) but I’ll still take photos of  things which take my fancy.

For example: I found this curvy piece of wood and these two snails and saw synergy in the shapes and movements.

Don’t say I didn’t warn you:

Despite been very compliant with my antibiotic tablets (ugh – side effects were tedious) and the ear drops (gloopy and staining!) I still trudged back to my GP today (Monday) for another check-up.

Having dived into my ears within 30 seconds she declared that those antibiotics should have cleared everything up since the were like Domestos (kills 99.9% of germs) and that I must have … a yeast infection. In my ears.

Sigh.

Apparently, this is very unusual (yay me for being special) and so it was perfectly reasonable to assume it was a bacterial infection.

I have iodine-soaked ribbon-gauze stuffed into my left ear (not the most pleasant thing I’ve ever had done to me) which needs to stay in for 24 hours and some more ear-drops on the way.

Fingers crossed, please?

  1. Yeast infection in the ears, well that explains why the antibiotics made it worse if it didn’t get better. VEERRRDY INtarestink – what is the iodine supposed to do?

You wanna know something weird? A couple of weeks ago I had the crazy thought of telling you to put yoghurt in your ears! LOL I’m not sure that would do anything, but … hey you’re supposed to eat lots of yoghurt (plain) when you have a yeast infection, also no pickles or beer or sugar blah blah blah.

Your awesome snail and curvy wood photo is …. well… awesome. You should enter it in a photo contest somewhere, truly.

ps – my right ear hurts – lol – but it’s my own fault

Those are very unusual socks too.
Is that the bias face cloth?? it is a bit boring to knit but it works well.
